The project involves the 'water supply to an area of \u200b\u200bplanned development on land adjacent to the center receptive "La Alumbrera.
This is an area where groundwater pollution is very high due to the massive extraction of gold and other precious metals by multinationals. The rate of contamination of water required to open the excavation work urgently to reach a depth of about 100m and arrive at non-contaminated groundwater.
primary goal is to ensure access to safe drinking water to children who attend the center and the neighboring villagers, who live with diseases of intestinal parasites and other diseases related to bad water consumption and then initiate a location of involvement and awareness for the protection of a precious commodity like water with a view to the commencement of development activities and future self-help.
The project is part of the Campaign "Free Water" in respect of one of the aims of the "Fund Raising for promoting access to safe water for all." The campaign is managed by CIPSI (Coordination of Popular Initiatives for International Solidarity) in collaboration with other member organizations including the International Funima same.
